The Sri Sakhon Police Flat in Narathiwat was attacked for the second time yesterday morning with M79 grenades, incendiary bombs and gunshots. Though nobody was injured, the building was riddled with bullet holes and five cars were slightly damaged.

The assault took place at 1.30am, when a group of suspected insurgents took advantage of the rain to lob five M-79 grenades at the five-storey building, damaging the fourth floor wall, and followed that up with some 20 incendiary bombs before spraying the building with M-16 gunshots.

Another group also attacked a police officer's townhouse some 300 metres from the flat with several incendiary bombs.

At 7.30am found the remains of five M79 grenades, traces of 20 incendiary bombs and some spent cartridges of M16 rifle at the scene. This is the second time this building has been attacked. The first attack took place on March 7 this year.
