Hong New Year Dec 24-28Th

Featured Replies

I was unable to check out the festivities this year so far, but if people will still be up in the mountains thru the 28th I might take a moto ride. I went a couple years ago and it's quite an amazing and fascinating cultural nexus. Every year 12 villages gather into one place with easily 80%+ of the people decked out in all manner of traditional garb. Thousands of Hmong gather and participate in all manner of traditional games and contests. When I went it was in a mountain village called Pong Yeng not far from the Queen Sirikit Botanical Gardens. Any information from TV members is greatly appreciated.

Searching in Eng was getting me next to nil. In Thai I just found this from the CM News http://www.chiangmainews.co.th/page/?p=47331 . Maybe it's time for a little day trip ! It is in Pong Yaeng again this year.
