I would like to convert my 1998 jeep wranglers brakes to abs, what is involved in this proccess, and can I use parts from a jeep cherokee? Tom

You would require a lot of hardware and the only way to do it is from a donor vehicle and swop the stuff.

Big job. A donor vehicle is the only realistic way to go.

You will need tone rings and sensors for all 4 wheels, master cylinder w/ABS solenoids attached - and a computer to run them all.

Then run all the required wiring. I would imagine that the engine computer talks to the ABS computer too - so you can not select full throttle with the RH foot and brake with the LH at the same time for example.

ABS can usually be done without engine/auto info, so tone rings/sensors + ABS master cylinder kit +computer + wiring. I d rather get some better tyres for a 14 yo

But for sure the project is a big headache. Forget it until you can move on to another ride. smile.png

sure big job replacing most brake parts with other parts not really fit for this model, in addition the shorter wheelbase of Wrangler may be a set up problem, thus my adivce for a 14yo, improve traction with better tyres and keep on pumping the pedal when it looses tractioncowboy.gif
