Possible To Change Us Coins To Baht In Bangkok? ...Or Mexican Pesos?

Featured Replies

I know most places do not take US coins, but could it be that this is possible, somewhere??

I also have some Mexican pesos (bills) to change to baht. Anybody??

Thanks for any help, I threw this stuff in my suitcase last time as I was in a hurry, and wont be going home any time soon.

If you are in the lower Sukhumvit area you might try Vasu currency exchange for the pesos. They are located between soi 9 and 11 oppisite Coffee World. Probably wont have much luck with the coins unless you have a friend at the US embassy who can convert them for you at the embassy cashier.

Does this mean that you've ran out of money? If so, where to change coins to Baht would be your smallest problem.

Drop the coins off at a school, my daughter was asking me the other day for coins from other countries for a class of hers. You won't get a monetary return for them but the Karma couldn't hurt.

I guess it isn't possible on the US coins. I'll look into that embassy suggestion one day, thanks.

I am on Suk, thanks again, i'll check Vasu.

One thing does seem odd to me..... I assume travelers are changing currencies to dollars many times here in thailand, especially at the airport. How would they handle the in between dollar amounts? Certain places MUST need US coins..... or am I wrong on that -- maybe they only let you change whole dollar amounts??
