January 8, 201214 yr Just a quick question. I'm moving to Thailand in May on a "O-A" visa and I know I need to report to immigration every 90 days. I may need to return to the UK just before 90 days and then return after. I know that leaving and entering the kingdom counts as reporting but I'm sure this occurs on return rather than leaving so this would be too late. If this is the case how long before the 90 days can I report? Many thanks
January 8, 201214 yr This is how it works with these annual visas/permissions to stay. Each time you are in Thailand for 90 days, you need to report at your local immigration. If you are flying out even as late as the 89th day, you don't need to report. Upon reentry into Thailand, your 90 day counter always resets. So you report 90 days later after reentering. There is usually a grace period before and after the 90 days for reporting at most offices. I think it is usually about a week. In the example above leaving the 89th day, you could report if you wanted to as you can report a little bit early, but you wouldn't need to (so why bother?). Given these mechanics depending on travel dates, for people who travel outside Thailand a lot, they may NEVER have to do an address report. (Technically leaving and reentering does not count as reporting as you assumed. See above.) Edited January 8, 201214 yr by Jingthing
January 8, 201214 yr Author Thanks jingthing. I must be confusing reporting with the fact that the 90 days restarts when you reenter the country. I was just worried that if I left just before the 90 days and returned after say 3 weeks that would count as not reporting. Seems like that's one part of this that isn't too complicated thank goodness.

I think most offices give you the date for next reporting in your passport but if you reenter and reset your 90 day clock, you need to count the days yourself.
