Phil Conners
Soft drinks are any non-alcoholic drink afaik. But doesn't include pure fruit juices - or milk drinks etc. Wikipedia to the rescue: A soft drink (also called pop, soda, coke,[1] soda pop, fizzy drink, tonic, or carbonated beverage) is a non-alcoholic beverage that typically contains water (often, but not always carbonated water), a sweetener, and a flavoring agent. The sweetener may be sugar, high-fructose corn syrup, or a sugar substitute (in the case of diet drinks). A soft drink may also contain caffeine, fruit juice, or both. Examples of beverages not considered to be soft drinks are: pure juice, hot chocolate, tea, coffee, milk, and milkshakes. Beverages like Gatorade and Powerade may meet the definition of a soft drink but are usually called sports drinks. Soft drinks are called "soft" in contrast to "hard drinks" (alcoholic beverages). Small amounts of alcohol may be present in a soft drink, but the alcohol content must be less than 0.5% of the total volume[2][3] if the drink is to be considered non-alcoholic.[4] Widely sold soft drink flavors are cola, cherry, lemon-lime, root beer, orange, grape, vanilla, ginger ale, fruit punch, and sparkling lemonade. Soft drinks may be served chilled or at room temperature. They are rarely heated. Soft drinks are any non-alcoholic drink afaik. ...never thought you're an expert on that..... I don't pretend to be. I did say "afaik" ....
barryofthailand
Best bet for sugar free drinks at the moment is Coke Light. They have cases in cans at Makro, and Tesco. Their is still limitd production due to the floods. Will be a long time till things get back to normal. Will probably have another flood by then. Mekong Bob
The bottle shops in Khao Talo have trays of Zero but no Coke Lite or Pepsi Max yet! Zero IS lite mate. Coke Zero = sugar free. Coke Zero is not Coke Light (Diet Coke). Yes they are all sugar free but they are not the same. Anybody have the ingredients for each (Pepsi, Pepsi Max, Coke, Coke Light, and Coke Zero)? Pepsi Max has double the caffeine of regular Pepsi. Singapore has Pepsi Light (Diet Pepsi) - tastes great! Too bad we cannot get Pepsi Light in Thailand. Edited January 11, 2012 by Mekong Bob
