Hi,

This question has probably been asked before. I am in Thailand right now and I'm currently on 1 (out of my 3) of my 60day tourist visas. Can I simply take a train to Cambodia, stay the night and then cross the border back to Thailand and expect for my second entry to be used by border services? Or do I have to go through an agency and pay for certain red tape fees and such? Thanks in advanced

You do not have to stay overnight but you will likely have to pay for a Cambodian visa at the border. You are aware 60 day entry can be extended 30 days at any immigration office for 1,900 baht fee and TM.7 form?

how long do you want to stay in thailand ?

are you in bkk ?

what is the enter before date written on the visa ?

reason i ask these questions is because if your after a long stay then you have options available.

I assume that you have a 6 month visa. Since you are currently in Thailand, near the end of your current 60 day "permission to stay", you can go to immigration and extend your stay for 30 days - cost 1900 baht. Then you must leave and re-enter. You will get 60 days "permission to stay". Near the end of that 60 days you can go to immigration and extend that stay for 30 days - cost 1900 baht. Then you must leave and re-enter. and again get 60 + 30. But the last entry must be before the "MUST ENTER BY" DATE ON YOUR ORIGINAL VISA, NOT THE PERMISSION TO STAY DATE STAMPED IN YOUR PASSPORT. It is like a bus pass and you must use it before that date, the day after it is "EXPIRED".

By doing this, you will get the maximum days allowed by your current visa. You need to manage your time and extensions to fit your travel plans. If you want a more detailed plan please respond with:

1. Date visa was issued

2. Enter before date on visa (expiration of visa)

3. Date entered Thailand

4. "permission to stay until" date stamped in your passport

5. Final date that you want to leave Thailand.

Hey guys.

Thank you for your help. I am currently on my extension of 30 days on my first entry. I plan to leave via train and bus to Cambodia where I will stay for a night and then turn around and come back to use my second entry as per the information on this thread. Thank you all!!!

You do not have to overnight unless that is what you want to do. Using a visa service it would be no problem but doing yourself they may try to say 'pay extra' if you do not want to overnight but believe this is just a stall and when you do not pay they will ignore your exit.
