Singapore Transit

Featured Replies

If one was to be arriving into Singapore rather late at night with plans to fly out the next afternoon, where is a good place to stay not far from the airport and not too expensive?

Within the terminal they have transit lounge where you can pay to sleep and shower for a very nominal fee.

Facilities available at Singapore Changi Airport include:

73 transit hotel rooms in Terminal 1 and 73 in Terminal 2. Rental in six-hourly blocks range between SGD 56 and SGD 64 for single or double occupancy. Showers, gym and sauna facilities are also available at extra cost for non-transit hotel occupants.

For more information, visit www.airport-hotel.com.sg

Also you can get free singapore tour provided by Singapore Tourist Board

Free Singapore Tour : If you have five hours to spare between connecting flights, you can register for the free 2 hour Singapore tour, which will take you around the river area, and includes a 20 minute bumboat ride. Available from 10am to 7pm with the last booking available at 6:30pm.

Hope this helps.

Nothing is too far from the airport. A taxi ride (no tips in Singapore) would be 12-15S$.

Singapore city-state is only 40sq km, about the size of Washington DC area.

If you are on an SQ flight, they used to have a "surprise" hotel for 35US$ stopover accommodation. Very likely you would end up in a 120+S$ room, whatever is unsold.

If I were you, no chance I would miss the city.

If nothing else, that might tell you what Thai leadership aspires Thailand to be and how far they are from that goal.
