Meat Skewers... Ala Phuket?

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,

A couple of months ago I spent some time on Koh Samui plus other places in Phuket. At the local markets there they would sell amazing meat skewers (chicken and pork mainly, beef sometimes) for 30-50baht. The quantity of meat on these skewers was awesome.

Im wondering if there are any markets in Chiang Mai that do the same thing?... Ive only found little servings of meat on skewers and it really doesnt compare.

Thanks

PS. I guess Im after some good size servings of meat for a cheap price. Any tips would be appreciated.

Only place ive seen skewers is the end of Ratchadamnoen road at the 3 way temple intersection.

you mean shishkabobs or what thais call BBQ?

On Loi Kroh there is a hotel that used to them. There are a few scattered throughout the city but nothing that compares to the coastal areas. You can get them uncooked at rimping and grill yourself. Not the worst option

Thanks for your replies guys! Much appreciated.

I found at one of the main markets near the Old Town Fried Pork bit which is basically pork skewer with the skewer :D And The 'ol roasted chicken stalls will have to suffice for the big ass chicken skewers. All good.

i have found what the thais call BBQ - skewers with large chunks of pork/chicken/beef, with a chili, maybe pineapple piece tossed on, bell pepper sometimes... anyways... i find this food at almost all walking street markets...

specifically, i have eaten it behind old carrefour, at the walking market there and also at the market near the fresh market in Ruam Chok... ...almost right in front of the 7-11...think i also found it at the walking market in the parking lot of tesco/lotus, in front of kaemtien market...
