Richard-BKK Posted January 16, 2012 Share Posted January 16, 2012 (edited) If I was you and would like to restore a 1983 Honda VT 750 I would source in Japan or some other countries donor bikes, which you import into Thailand. As the model is from the early '80s import duty will probably be less than 10%, if you talk to a transport company they can explain you how you can avoid paying the 30% Excise Tax* (you going to use the imported bike for parts for your already in Thailand registered bike) Are there any parts you're particularly interested in? If you just need a few parts, like engine parts you maybe better buy them new from one of the online motorcycle shops... we often get engine parts for which we not have to pay import duty... so if you lucky you can do it relatively cheap... *By not paying the 30% Excise Tax you cannot register the imported for public road use.... so if you want to use the frame or the engine side with engine number you need to pay the tax....
