Thai Visiting Us On B1/B2 With Us National. Married/Not Married Impact?

Featured Replies

We have made one trip together last year. All went well, I was questioned as much as she but it was all pretty painless. The officer essentially wanted to know where I resided and asked about employment.

We will return again unmarried so I can reasonably assume to expect the same treatment.

The following year we may very well be married.

Is being married and living in Thailand, me on a O/M visa a positive or negative (presume a positive) BUT might this be looked upon as us making a lunge for the US illegally?

How are couples treated in this situation? No, I am not working aka teaching English, renting rooms or working in the "Diving" industry.

We will bring with us all the same documents as well as letter of employment from her company.

As an aside - if we were to increase her stay to say...five months annually. How might THIS appear? Perhaps OK as long a she is coming/going?

Thanks

It appears that there is an issue. The visa is for all intents and purposes considered null/void and the person is then (in all liklihood) to be entering the country with the purpose of staying.

It's basically rubbish. Could it happen, sure. Must it happen surely not.
