His Majesty The King's Birthday-eve Speech

Featured Replies

For those who might be interested, the Bangkok Post printed a translation of the King's birthday-eve speech given on Dec 4, which has been lightly edited, in today's paper (6 December 2005). It can be found on page 4 of section 1, or here...

Edit: Note that in his speech where he mentions alternative fuels, he does mention the "royal car that runs on palm oil". I watched the speech on TV and afterwards they showed the King getting into a 4-dr Lexus and driving himself, and others away. (He adjusted his rear-view mirror before he put it in gear.) I assume that Lexus is the one referenced in the speech?

It does look like a VERY loose translation from reading it BUT he does say they have A royal biodiesel car.

Will people thoughtfully critisice the King after he gave them permission?
