February 4, 201214 yr I went to the dentist today for a routine cleaning and x-ray and was told that I had a cavity on the tooth under my bridge. She told me the bridge would have to be removed, the cavity repaired and a new bridge made. This would cost B 18,000 per cap for a total of B 54,000. This is for porcelin. Does this seem high? I'll get a second opinion next week from another dentist.
February 6, 201214 yr It can be confirmed by an x-ray. Did she take one? If so,ask for it and show it to another dental clinic. Which clinic quoted that price anyway?
February 6, 201214 yr Author It can be confirmed by an x-ray. Did she take one? If so,ask for it and show it to another dental clinic. Which clinic quoted that price anyway? As I mentioned in my OP she took a x-ray which showed the problem. The clinic was Amput Clinic.
February 7, 201214 yr See this post for the price at Dental Hospital on Soi 49, seems higher than what you were quoted If you want the lowest cost without scarificing quality (which c an easily occur if you shop around for the lowest private price) go to the Mahidol Dental Hospital (government facility) near Victory Monument. Service will be slow with a lot of waits but you'll pay much less and unlike many cut rate private dentists it won't be a substandard quality of care.
February 13, 201214 yr Author You mean Sompop Amput at Charn Israsa 2 Tower? Thats kinda expensive. Yes, that's the clinic but they have another branch located in the Vongvanij Building on Rama IX. I thought they were expensive too, that's why I'm looking for alternatives.
February 15, 201214 yr I have switched to Bangkok Smile Dental Clinic for years and been happy ever since. Its still a bit more expensive than Thailand standard but cheaper than that you went to. I dont really mind paying a bit more for reliable and hygienic service if its not too much. Dr. Sunisa is the one who takes care of my teeth and she is one of the best.
