Former Prize Boxer caught with loaded weapon on Pattaya Beach

PATTAYA:-- A former champion boxer from Bangkok was found on Pattaya Beach in the early hours of Thursday with a loaded revolver.

Police were on routine patrol when they spotted Khun Tongjan aged 30 who appeared nervous when approached by Police, with good reason. He indicated that he was carrying the firearm in a small bag and was taken to Pattaya Police Station where Police determined he had recently been arrested in relation to a drug-related incident.

He revealed how he used to work as a professional boxer in Bangkok and when his short career came to an end he travelled to Pattaya in search of work. Khun Tongjan claimed the weapon was given to him by a man who owned him 20,000 Baht in gambling debts, who offered the weapon as a guarantee of payment.
