Leaving Thailand On A Retirement Visa

Featured Replies

I have got a 1-year retirement VISA

from Nakhon Rachtasima immigrations valid until 2013.

In passport stamp is stated:

"To keep your stay permit re-entry

permit must be made before leaving

Thailand"

Is this re-entry permit easy to get?

Can I just apply for it on may 90-day visit?

Yes, 1 picture and TM8 form. Cost: single entry 1000 baht, multiple entry 3800 baht. Some of us purchase at least a single when we do our extension just in case of an emergency.

Yes. simple to apply for .

BTW you do not have a Visa. You have a 12 month permision to stay in The Kingdom.

Thanks to both of you, clear as crystal

Bit confused about the re-entry permits.

If you get a multiple re-entry does that last for as many trips as you want in one year ?

I am wondering if I should to apply for my retirement visa later this year as I make 6 or so long trips to Thailand and back to UK. I also visit friends in Vietnam and Manila flying from Bangkok.

Would I be better off getting 60 day tourist visas every time or a retirement visa with multiple re-entry ?

Thanks

The multiple entry permit is good for as many entries during your current permission to stay. So if you get a multiple reentry permit when you get your extension, it is valid for the life of the extension.
