MR. SONTHI INSISTS HE WILL CONTINUE HIS ROLE AS 'ETHICAL' MEDIA PERSON

Following the dropping of libel charges against Mr. SONTHI LIMTHONGKUL (สนธิ ลิ้มทองกุล), the media tycoon said he does not owe Prime Minister THAKSIN SHINAWATRA any favors and pledged to commit his role as an ethical media reporter.

The producer of the controversial political talk show, Mr. SONTHI LIMTHONGKUL, has expressed his opinion about the Prime Minister's withdrawal of lawsuits against him earlier this week. Mr. SONTHI stated that he does not feel like he owes the premier any favors, as the reason underlying the withdrawal of charges was due to personal accord.

Despite the elimination of tension in law suits between Prime Minister Thaksin and Mr. SONTHI, the former defendant has vowed to continue his role as an impartial media reporter. Moreover, the media tycoon has also brushed off allegations that he had stirred up the issue to gain votes in the next senate election.

Meanwhile, dissenting teachers who oppose the transfer of educational institutes to local administrations gathered yesterday to provide moral support to Mr. SONTHI.
