High End Computer Gaming Shop?

Featured Replies

All the shops I've found are lacking in the high end products. Anyone know of a store that carries high end graphics cards around here?

They are always a bit behind here - online is best for latest and greatest. Panthip Plaza has a few shops with high end stuff (but its still behind what you get online - probably more expensive too).

Yea, I looked there too and they seem to be several models behind what I want. The local online stores don't carry it either, and everyone is saying it will take 2 weeks to get it. Was hoping there was some hidden gem of a store around here somewhere.

Nah no hidden gems. Icon Plaza, Computer Plaza have the most up to date hardware and even then not so current and of course crazy over-priced. I always buy computer hardware on eBay and be sure that the seller agrees to ship registered post, marked as a 'gift' and a value of no more than 1000 Baht. Sometimes the post office asks for 7 Baht tax. I've no idea what the 7 Baht is all about but no complaints.

Both of those places have to order what I need, up to two weeks. Which probably means a lot more.

Great tip in sending as a gift though, clever.

In my opinion JIB are the best retailers in CM and certainly seem to hold the most stock. They've got a Radeon 6870 for 6500 baht. Cheaper there than it is for the same model here in the UK. Never had a problem with getting stock from them except once, the i7 I wanted took 3 days to come up from BKK. They usually have a good stock of hardware, even the high end gear.

Have you looked at the Hardware store in Airport plaza? by the ITcity?

I agree...JIB has consistently had what i wanted, at very good prices... i was pleasantly surprised when they opened in Pantip. Now they are always the store i go to first.

I've been to most if not all the "high end game shops" in Chiang mai.

There are several you should avoid.

I definitely recommend one.

It is in Pantip Computer Plaza (near the Night Bazaar), on the 1st floor. South West corner. Closest shop to the bathrooms.

The owner is Mr Porn, speaks passable english. ph: 089-7571661 Open about Noon to 8pm

Most important he is honest, and provides great service after the sale.

I've bought a several "top of the line" gaming rigs there over the years.

It is a small shop, but he can order anything you need.

If you are interested, I have two used AMD 6990 cards for sale with 2 years left on the warranty.

I'm planning on upgrading to the AMD 7990 for 30,000 baht each when they come out mid year. Ouch!
