"The Democrats then went looking through the trash(a possibly illegal act if done on the House property without a search warrant as it was the "property" of the house)"

Thanks, GK, needed a good belly laugh. cheesy.gif Oh dear.... a dastardly trashy act... cheesy.gif

Apaprently, you have no regard for the concept of an illegal search or in protecting evidence.. How do you know that the material alleged to have been found in the trash was even the DPM's refuse? How do you know the bottles were not planted? The correct action would have been to verify the contentts of the trash with a representative of the Speaker's office. Where were the witnesses that saw the DPM or his employees put this in the trash.

How would you feel if someone found some yaba in your trash that was in an accessible area and then acused you of having yaba? How about kiddie porn? Would it be appropriate to condemn you and demand immediate action even though there was no evidence that the material belonged to you? Would you be guilty of posessing the material because it was found in your trash, even though it was the guy from across the soi that put it there?

My dear GK, it's laudable you want to try to defend and protect our Dept. PM Chalerm, but you're slightly off here. The article on "Dem's sifting through trash" has

"There were 20 bottles of soda water and alcholic beverages. The manager of the Parliament’s canteen confirmed that no alcoholic beverages are sold on the premises, leading Boonyod to believe that some MPs must be drinking alcohol during the interim of the meeting."

No mention of any specific names. The trash was from a garbage dumpster at parliament. Furthermore MP Boonyod said

"empty bottles, including vodka, sherry, wine coolers and soda water, were proof of drinking inside Parliament although there was no evidence of links to Chalerm.

"The kind of bottles found indicated drinking done by lawmakers and not their drivers and aides.""

Now as (self-appointed) representative of the poor and other taxpaying people and anti-coupists, I'd really like an explanation why the evidence points to MP's and not other people working and walking around Parliament House huh.png

What are defamation laws in Thailand other than Lese Majeste for the common man. Make that the common rich man. Ridiculous to consider reform of one and not the other.

There may be an immediate exective decree signed entitled "Do you know who I am" decree with rules against speaking the truth about any politician of the current ruling party.

Defamation of character! Alcoholics go for meetings, drunks go to parties!!! :) a drunk will never confess he is an alcoholic.... I like his claim that he was on medication. I wonder if the Police would buy that from me if I swayed and had to be propped. Good luck to your lawyers mate... give them the same medicine.

4 newspapers would be smart to drag even more dirty laundry out now.hit-the-fan.gif

Good point. The fat is already in the fire, so might as well throw some gasoline in for good measure. Time for the compromising photos of Charlerm with katoeys to be made public, even if they have to be created with Photoshop.

At 05:55 he seems to still mistakenly refer to Aphisit as Prime minister Aphisit.

Here's a an earlier video from Nov 2011 where he's harangued by a female journalist to compare.

The point is that MPs are clearly drinking on the job, and that is not appropriate behavior in Parliament. If you think that's OK, that's a matter for you. If you think the evidence was planted, that's also up to you. Of no interest to me. People can reach their own conclusions, and have done. An illegal search of a crime scene! Ewwwwww! Shock, horror! You watch too much CSI. ;-)

His ear infection started wednesday not friday. Know some people in parliament and they confirm this is not new, he has had many ear infections in the past. This man is a disaster and leading the Reds and now this idiotic excuse? Stop pouring whiskey in your ear, idiot.

This is the perfect opportunity for PTP to show moral fortitude, impress voters and install a more TV-friendly cabinet minister in Chalerm's place.

cheesy.gif

First belly-laugh of the day. Of all Chalerm's moral repugnancies, you pick drunkenness as a reason to can him. It's a bit like jailing Al Capone for tax evasion, except that happened.

Because those NOT employed in a parliamentary sinecure would be fired for drinking on the job and in an alcohol-free building.

Democrat MP from Samut Songkram Rangsima Rodrasmee

"I may be drunk Miss, but in the morning I will be sober and you will still be ugly" would have been such a good response to close this matter on the spot.

rolleyes.gif

You seem to have missed the point. Churchill was at a social occasion when he made that riposte; Chalerm was in Parliament.

How pathetic

Like a child running to its mother "Mummy that nasty lady said bad things about me and the papers reported them"

He is showing himself up to be a bigger prize prick every day.

And of course his boss was off somewhere advertising herself, as usual, instead of being in the house where she was supposed to be.

What a bunch of clowns they all belong in a circus.

A great cure for such an infection is a small piece of lead inserted in the ear.

Sure there are plenty in this country who who would be happy to preform the operation for free.

Chalerm Files More Defamation Suits

BANGKOK: -- Deputy PM Chalerm Yoobumrung has filed an additional defamation suit against 2 other newspapers and 3 Democrat MPs for accusing him of being drunk during last Friday's parliamentary session.

Chalerm claims to have a medical certificate showing he has an ear infection which led to him being unsteady on his feet.

Of course it is bullying, but how on earth can anyone claim that there is a right to sue the newspapers for defamation??????????

These types of laws that exist here annoy the hell out of me, because they actively serve to keep the status quo to the detriment of society at large, but NO political party of any political persuasion will EVER change them. Why I can guess, but is there NO ONE who cares about making the system better in this country?

But the system is great for the elite! Why would they want to change that? Also it is a crazy thing about the defamation laws, I believe, you could actually be transmitting the truth and still be guilty of defamation.

On Nation's front page today is the story about Yingluck going on a road trip to Japan to "restore confidence".

She should purge this Chalerm story from the news first, he is her first Deputy PM after all, she can't inspire confidence in anyone if she keeps him around.

Chalerm can drink himself to stupor everyday and PTP voters can keep electing him, but if Japanese figure out this government for what it is it would cost the country most dearly.

Thailand can screw Cambodians, piss off Germans and whatever but Japanese money presence here is just too darn important.

So when it comes to the PM sexism is inappropriate, when it comes to the opposition it is ok?

Dunno, maybe you should ask that to the posters who objected to sexism against the PM, or those that got your goat in other ways.
