Tourist Visa Extension

I've seen some posts saying that a single entry tourist visa can be extended for 7 days and others for 30 days. Can anyone clarify this for me please and also the cost?

Remember was are talking about a tourist visa obtained from a Consulate prior to entry - what you obtain on entry is not a tourist visa and can not be extended for 30 days.

The 7 days is for a visa exempt on entry you get at the airport and you have to show proof of a ticket out of Thailand.

The seven days is a disapproved extension of stay issued on any type of entry or extension of stay - in effect it provides a 7 day period for people to settle up there affairs when no other valid extension option is available.
