Hi,

I am in Thailand in 2 weeks and hoping to make the Tourist Visa application for my girlfriend smile.png.

I'm wondering how much information I need to supply to satisfy the financial aspects of the sponsor application form.

Firstly do I need to supply original bank statements or will internet banking copies suffice? (I've moved house recently and fear I don't have enough time to get the lazy banks to update the address information and send out new statements sad.png ).

Secondly do I need to go so far as supplying copies of loan / credit card statements? What about share save schemes?

Finally I can prove I have £2,000+ free cash flow each month after paying out against all my obligations HOWEVER I am net in debt via a loan on a car. Would this adversely impact the application?

Thanks smile.png.

JoJo, couple of tips to start with.

I’ve asked the moderators to put the letters ‘UK’ in your subject headline because you should get more readers because then they know what Country’s Visa you are applying for.

Click the ‘Follow this Topic’ button on the top right of your post page and will get a notification of people replying to your post. That way you don’t keep having to go back and check to see if anyone has replied to your post.

No need to mention any debts.

As for the Bank Statement, I simply removed my Account number and Branch code from my statement, scanned it and sent it to the gf who then included it in her application.

The application was to the Australian Govt’, but some things have a general application.

My Thai gf just got her second tourist visa and I catalogued the process in another post here http://www.thaivisa....sa-application/

As mentioned it’s for an Australian Visa and our Government is as tough, if not tougher, to get a successful application through and there could be some useful information in it for you.

Best of luck with your gf’s application

Thank you for the advice and I'm eagerly reading your post now :). I have most of the other ducks I perceive to need lined up including what I hope is a decent story behind why she will return :).

I have always submitted online bank statement without difficulty, they do ask for original documents but ECO's do live in the real world, just bear in mind that they can and do check.

Debts are no problem providing that they are managed and sustainable, you just need to prove that, if you are sponsoring your girlfriends trip, that it is affordable.

Don't forget her reasons to return.

Good luck to you both.

(USA WDC)

I had a bear of a time making a visa in person but that is another story...

I was given a double visa in a really hard assed embassy with only a print out from a tertiary bank with an account of about 3.5K.

...only double visa as the guy got all caught up on tickets and dates. REALLY sucked. They dismissed my brokerage acct becasue it did not print my name on the paper upon print out. Normally, I submit all but surely not necc.

Would not give me an O visa, partner/gf was standing right next to me in the embassy!

PS: I always submit Internet copies.

your post sounds as if you were applying for a visa for you in Thailand...... The OP was asking for advice about applying for a UK visit visa for his girlfriend. 2 different countries, 2 different immigration rules.
