I'm contemplating purchasing an item from a private person advertising on the internet. The sum involved is around 35,000 Baht so its not going to be a big issue if it goes awry, but I'd like more protection than simply transferring the cash to a bank account.

Has anybody used the Thai Post Cash on Delivery service?

I can't find out from their website how much they charge.

If the item does not match the description can I refuse delivery?

I'll go to the local post office and check them out, but I'd like a bit of "user feedback" too.....

ok,you dont trust the seller

why should he trust you though ?

he is supposed to send a 35k item to you first (without payment? and then you inspect it ? and decide to accept or refuse delivery etc

who pays the shipping both ways if you dont accept it ?

what if it gets scratched or damaged in transit ? is the sale void etc

thats not any deal id be interested in to be honest

Thanks for the reply.

Those are all the questions I wanted to know the answers to.

I have never had any problems sending money to a business in Bangkok in order to make a purchase. But this is a private individual.
