Using a multiple re entry stamp ,is its validity for the period of my permission to stay or is it open ended...or for a fixed period

Probably a daft question but my present permission to stay expires Dec 2012 but my re entry permit will be issued today,so will it be valid when I renew my permission to stay...say until March 2013?

It's valid until the end of your current permission to stay (Dec 2012), when you get a new extension you need a new Re-Entry Permit.

It is valid for the duration of your current permission to stay.

I just got my retirement extension permission to stay about 6 weeks earlier than the correct date, thus very early.

At the same time I got a Multiple Re-entry Permit, which because also obtained early, actually gives me one year plus 6 weeks of actual useage of this permit.
