Hi Guys,

I will put the wifey's CRV up for sale next month but not sure what is a fair price.

its a Black 2003, its just reached 100KMs on the clock.

Its ony had 1 owner as we have had it since it was new.

Has not been in any accidents, body work is in great condition.

Leather seats, DVD player with reverse camera on screen.

How much you reckon? Dealer at ford tells me he will give me 450K for it. Seems like a decent deal.

Have a look on the webpages and see what others are selling the same car for. i.e. taladrod, one2car.com etc... these prices will be marked up a little as everyone expects to get negotiated down a little.

I've used redbookasiapacific - it's just 100 baht per valuation and gives you both a trade-in and private sale price - you get two certificates, one in Thai and one in English so it's useful.

It's a shame you can't just pay a one-time fee to browse the database, you have to pay for each valuation. If you're considering buying a Ford, you may wish to get a valuation of the proposed vehicle and it's interesting how much less Toyota and Honda vehicles depreciate by comparison.

When selling to a tent, do they take much notice of the condition and mileage of your car?

My civic is nearing 200K kms but still in excellent condition with full book service. One one2car it sells for an average of 506K baht. What is their normal markup (15%) ? I could use this to gauge how much to sell privately for (not asked at a dealer yet). My BIL is interested to buy, but would angle for at least 480K.

To the OP, shop around the different tents, as the offer can vary. The ford dealer , like all dealers, will be low balling you, so shop around the tents first. The good thing about selling to a tent is it's fast and hassle free. No need for a privte buyer to scrounge up the money or end up having their finance rejected.
