Hi All,

I'm currently on a Non Immigrant B visa, and the stamp in my passport, says that I should report to Amnat Cheron immigration (1 1/2 - 2h drive), on March the 23rd.

I have moved house since I last reported in (just down the road), although haven't updated that at the amphur yet.

I have applied for a new passport, which should arrive at the NZ embassy in BKK next week.

I am working next week, so can likely only take 1 day off work for immigration issues (Am not working the week after however)

I am then intending on travelling to Cambodia the week after (maybe 27th or there abouts)

1/ How do I change my address at the Amphur or whatever? is it difficult? What do I need to bring with me?

2/ I've heard that it's possible to report in 1 week after the date you're ment to. Is this correct? As the piece of paper which they stapled into my passport next to the stamp, says that if I'm late, it's a 5000 Baht fine + 200 Baht per day. So I'd rather not be late.

3/ If I can report in a week after the 23rd, does this also mean I could just leave the country within a week of the 23rd and avoid having to report in? (Or would I potentially get a fine for not reporting in on the 23rd (e.g. is the 1 week's grace only for if you report in rather than leave the country. Likewise as my address is changing, do I therefore NEED to report in?)

4/ Can I report in, in Bangkok Immigration, instead of in Amnat Cheron? Since I'll likely be going there to transfer over my visa stamps anyway

5/ Is Bangkok immigration the right place to goto, to transfer over the visa stamps in my old passport, to my new one? And how long does this usually take?

As I want to book in dates for going to Cambodia with some friends, but with reporting in + new passport, I'm unsure on the date that I'll actually be able to goto Cambodia on. I'd like to get everything sorted as efficiently as possible, so that I can hopefully enjoy more of my holidays, rather than mucking around with immigration issues the whole time.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you're able to provide me with.

1. Not sure what Amphur interest would be - never heard of any such reporting. Perhaps you mean reporting to local police that landlord should do? You are also supposed to report change to immigration but normally they don't bother until next 90 day report is due.

2. You can report up to seven days late without fine. The normal fine for late reporting is 2,000 baht. That 5k is a maximum fine and the 200 baht per days seems to be if you fail to pay when asked that will kick in (have never seen any report of it being used).

3. The seven days is if you report in person during that time. It does not extend the reporting date so you would be fined at next visit if you failed to report. Also you do not get that 7 days using mail.

4. Normally only at office you extended. But believe that should be done at your extension office.

5. Believe transfer of extension will be done at your extension office under new system.
