When I warra lad at school it was called litmus paper...assuming its the same paper.

Yes you are right, I believe it is the same. At one website, it was also refered to as "universal litmus paper". it said "Litmus paper is available from pharmacies, laboratory suppliers or suppliers of swimming pool chemicals. Use litmus paper in the range of pH 6 to 9."

Will check with some pharmacies then, but guess it would have to be one of the larger ones. Probably at a pharmacy in a hospital or something.
