Rimmer Posted March 20, 2012 Share Posted March 20, 2012 Italian motorbike driver killed in high speed road crash in North Pattaya PATTAYA:--An Italian motorbike driver was killed in a road accident in North Pattaya on Monday Night. The accident occurred in Soi Sawang Far in Naklua close to where it intersects with the Sukhumvit Road and resulted in the death of the Italian man known only as “Jimmy”, thought to be aged between 70 and 80 years. There were many witnesses to the accident which began with a rear-end collision of the victim’s motorbike by an 18 wheel truck, the driver of which was initially unaware of the collision until the Police ordered the truck to stop further up the road. The Italian and his bike were thrown against a stationary Ice Truck which ruptured the vehicles gas tank, indicating the initial impact by the larger truck was a high speed one. Gone Posted March 20, 2012 Share Posted March 20, 2012 This is so sad at his age to have it ended by one of these ever more increasing "Road Warriors". There is no need for any vehicle let alone an 18 wheeler to be speeding through Pattaya. Condolences to the family and may the victom RIP. It seems these days one might as well copy and paste the above condolences as it happens almost every day now. Just wouldnt feel as personal that way though. Truly sad story. It just means you can be killed on a motorcycle through absolutely no fault of your own, with probably little accountability for your killer.
