Two monks caught using drugs at Temple in Sattahip District

SATTAHIP:--Two monks suspected of smoking methamphetamine have been removed from the monkhood and are now behind bars along with another man who is accused of purchasing drugs for them.

Officers from the Royal Thai Navy Narcotics Unit were called to a Temple in Sattahip District early on Wednesday morning by the Chief Monk who suspected two of his monks were somehow involved in drugs.

Officers conducted a raid of their room where they found evidence of drug taking and urine tests confirmed the use of methamphetamine by the two monks and the suspected drug courier,
