18 months ago we didn't need to translate documents from Thai to English to get a UK (family) visa for my wife in Bangkok.

Is this still the case? This time we are going for a settlement.

Not sure but get all the key documents translated anyway. It is very expensive to get done over here and very cheap in Thailand.

you don't need to get them translated. Only your Mariage certificate and your wife's birth certificate.

We supplied the Tambien Baan and the Marriage certificate both in Thai, all other documents were in English already and none required translations.

Settlement is a different kettle of fish, I would suggest translating documents from Thai to English, you never know what you might need in England later on.

Depends what documents you submit. Anything in Thai should, in my opinion, be translated into english. The person reading the application will be english, make things easier for yourself, and them. A few obvious ones like the other posts say:

Birth certificate of applicant

Marriage certificate

Divorce certificate - if applicant married before

We had marriage cert, name change cert and amended tabien baan after name change translated
