Road Freight - Long Package

Featured Replies

I am having a nightmare trying to find a freight company to get 2 14foot (4metre) packages (400cm x 70cm x 40 cm) from Pattaya to Krabi or ideally Koh Lanta. Does anyone have any freight companies that they know I could try? Even to get them to Phuket could be an option. I was quoted 13 000 baht but this seems excessive (and it was only to Krabi). Help appreciated.

What’s in the package? Just curious.

This price is common in the market as you need a large vehicle with a loading bridge exceeding 400 m. The weight is obviously no subject, as such lorries usually have a capacity of 6-10 tons. They charge you roundtrip with empty return. However, weight might become a subject for loading and offloading. Did you consider this, as well and if heavy, do you have the necessary equipment ?

I have plans to buy a tri-yak Kayak out of BKK unless I come across a used one. About the same dimensions, so I will pay attention to this thread. When I moved from Pattaya to Phuket I hired a pickup to take a load of stuff down. These were the guys sitting beside the road in Pattaya where the new extention of 7 meets up with Sukhumvit. Total charges were 10,000B, and that was a full, large, and heavy load.
