PM insists on listening to all sides to achieve reconciliation

BANGKOK, 25 March 2011 (NNT) - The prime minister has called on all sides of the political conflicts to listen to each other and trust in the parliamentary system in achieving national reconciliation.

During this week's 'Government Meets the People' TV program, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said that she has reckoned a number of heated arguments regarding the national reconciliation in the past week.

Noted discussions related to the issue include the report from King Prajadhipok's Institute on reconciliation measures and the queries about the September-2006 military coup.

The PM said that, in order to resolve ongoing conflicts, related parties should listen to opinions from all sides and to put trust in the parliamentary system to help identify the best solutions, which give priorities to equality, the national interest and acceptable code of laws.

She added that sacrifices under the fair and democratic rule and the healing process are keys to reconciliation that everyone must adopt to succeed in this task.
