Translation Services

Featured Replies

I am in need of an "Official" translation service to translate a document written in Spanish into both English and Thai. Anyone aware of any such services in CM? Thanks for any info.

This is far from 'official' but it may be a start point for you.

Try Darets Guest House & Caff on the east side of Thapae Gate (outside of the moat), opposite the most northern bricks of the Gate.

They have a CM resident, occasional visiting, Thai tour guide who is fluent in Spanish. I saw him there late last week. He is taller than average and speaks good English too. Sorry, no name.

Ask the Darets owner, Khun See, or his wife (usually at the cashiers desk) rather than the staff. His English is fine, hers rather limited.

Good hearted people who will help link you up if they can.

Not 'official' either by any stretch of the imagination but a great source of Thais fluent in a number of other languages and helpful for translation (for a reasonable fee) is up at Doi Suthep. You could approach any of the guide/translators and possibly they can put you in contact with someone who can help you.

Maybe the embassy in BKK would be a good starting point:

Embassy of Spain

Ratchadaphisek Rd., Khlong Toei

Thanks, all. I am fluent in Spanish myself, but need the "official" stamp. Embassy in BKK does not provide translation services. I can find official translators in BKK, but was hoping to save the trip. Back to the "official" translation requirement.

What constitutes an "official" translation? Might it be possible to translate it yourself and have it certified by the ministry of foreign affairs?

Can't do. The translator must be recognized by the Thai government, and has an official seal they affix to the document. Have done this before with simple translations such as English to Thai, but can't find anyone this side of Bangkok that can do Spanish.

Contact the Spanish embassy in Bangkok; they will likely be able to help.

They are closed now but will be open Monday morning (unless they are closed all next week because of la semana santa).

Good luck.
