An Italian mobster, wanted by a foreign country, is arrested when arriving here. That's it. Where the hell does Thaivisa find the people commenting on threads like this? I guess at expat bars where they exchange there experiences with the Thail legal system. Just pass on the Chang mate and we tell you how it works here. Mix this neocolonial bunch with some 'Thailand lovers' abroad and you get the kind of slanderous comments this forum is famous for. I really wonder what these people are doing here or why they came to Thailand. Most probably haunted by the flawless jnudicial system and impeccable police force in their very civilized home countries.

surpris surprise:

What a strange comment. Nobody asks you to read this forum. If you don't like then go to other sites.

Slanderous posts are removed by Admin, so I don't know what axe you have to grind here.....

I imagine the BiB will let him go once he has paid over 200 Baht !

Reckon he will be viewed as a big big source of income for the BIB could cost him millions now he will learn what extortion is really about.

Posted

If he was going to offer a bribe to be set free it would already have happened. He's arrested and so going back to Italy. No amount of money will get him out of this. Just like that Russian guy, some arrests are too high-profile to have the people walk free.

we shall see ?

Are you yourself not not reading and commenting same topic ...........?!!

Yes I did. And, that brings me next to you at the beer table? The question was why the majority of those commenting on this topic feel obliged to express their wisdom on the Thai legal system. In line with your 'answer' I would like to reply why stay in Thailand or come to Thailand if this counry is as corrupt as you and your pals suggest?

???? where did i printed or said that ..., now you are reading things in my post that are not there ....., besides i react as an individual , no pals to defend , i think they are mature enough to do themselfs, you just look foolish to make a judgment who prouves is subject to yourself as you are following and reading too here.

Now end of line; as my mother said longtime before ......" let such people stew in their own grease "

have a nice day further with greetings from my avatar .....mfr_closed1.gif

Thailand is a nicer place to live than most countries and that is one of the reasons why most ex pats are here. We appreciate that but it doesn't necessarily mean we have to subscribe to it being as perfect as some would have you believe.

"In South Africa he is seen as a major business leader with interests in mineral water, security and ostrich farming.

Investigators believe he is also the owner of a hunting ground popular with the rich and famous, and an investor in a company in Angola that specialising in precious stones.

He was also said to be the owner of a diamond cutting business."

These seem pretty good reasons for South Africa refusing to extradite him.

I know of another mafia boss with strong connections to diamond mining and high investments in S.A. Shame he doesn't go and live there fruitfully, and shut up, too! ;)

I totally agree with you. And living here I know very well that my host country isn't perfect. Which country is? What I can't stand is using something happening here for Thai-bashing or poking 'fun' on Thai. Anything will do for that, even news about an arrested Italian maffia boss here. Many comments on this forum are expressions of white superiority thinking. I read Thai visa because it is a good source of interesting news about Thailand, and mostly I ignore the comments. My mistake I didn't do that today. I hope Thai readers of this forum don't make the same mistake! I suspect a lot of these 'Thai experts' would go bonkers when in their home countries people of foreign descent publish the same kind of rubbish. I bet their reaction would be: hey you, foreign loonie, get the hell outtahere.

Dear Hansoi,

I see you failed to try to comment on people commenting in this forum in a civilized way. It is noted. I don't want to get into what you are trying to say. David555 answered that for me

lets see, how much bail would be and imagine an extra large envelope for the cops and judge

He's not charged with anything in Thailand.

Neither is TS according to the current PM, Deputy PMs and the following chirade of losers that back up the chirade!

Happy SongKhran to all of them, and please be careful that you don't drown in your own drivel. ;)

Said above that he was a SA national. That might be the first clue.

Well, yes and no. It was 'acquired'.

Italian media reported that Thailand had agreed to his extradition to Italy but that his lawyers said he was a South African national, even though he had assumed it under another identity.

So one can purchase a SA nationality that easily and avoid getting extradited. Interesting.

Would be interesting to see what can be achieved at KhaoSan Rd. regarding...... Damned inferno - the guy's been here before... 555
