Thailand cracks down on Viagra for foreigners

BANGKOK: -- Thailand's Food and Drug Administration, FDA, has decided to ban erectional dysfunctional medicine like Viagra and its generic equivalents (Elonza) for foreigners from May 1, 2012.

Dr. Somchai Maikaengraeng, deputy Minister of Public Health says the move was necessary because elderly foreigners, are hurting their health with the use of this class of drugs.

"Loss of potency as one ages is nature's way of safe guarding your health and should be accepted as such" says Dr. Somchai.

"Since there has been too many cases of adverse effects in older foreign men with conditions that contraindicate the use of the drug, and doctors just can't seem to say no when patients plead to get it prescribed, from May 1 the drug will not be available on prescription for foreigners over or under the counter in Thai pharmacies and hospitals.

It is feared that many older men plead for the medicine, just for sexual pleasure. FDA spokesman Dr. Ekkarin Fugmyleksomboon stresses that such use is immoral and against government policy. He also revealed there is an increasing number of cases of older people using viagra and dying while having sex, as they can't control their "urge".

Several foreign tourists have been found dead in compromising circumstances in recent months. In these cases Thai authorities try to protect the family of the man and tell them they died of a heart attack. However, while monitoring internet forums for illegal content, police have noticed people blaming the police for cover ups while they only want to protect the relatives, says Dr. Fugmyleksomboon.

Dr. Ekkarin continues: "As the drug is not necessary for the treatment of any life threatening condition and its usage is so hard to control, it is better to ban altogether, so we are putting the drug in the same category as heroin and amphetamines".

The Thai Authorities see no public health benefit in helping older foreigner men get or maintain erections and indeed, avoiding same might have a positive impact in terms of decreasing the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, STIs, says Dr. Somchai of the Ministry of Public Health.

Thai postal authorities have been instructed to open packages from known drug supplying countries, and any such drugs found will be confiscated and the consignee taken to court for violation of Thai law.

So one could possibly get life imprisonment for possessing Viagra. Insanity!

Don't worry all Viagra users. Thai plastic surgeons are already gearing up for penile implants. With this handy device, you can "pump" up your member for an all night marathon. You can now get this type of surgery done at all respectable hospitals as well as those shadier back Soi clinics. So enjoy!

"A penile implant includes a hollow elastomeric internal cylinder that is coaxial with an external cylinder both of which are rounded at the distal end and suitably secured to one another at this location. The space between the cylinders is designed to receive fluid through a laterally extending port for pressurizing the implant to achieve the erectile state. A root section is adapted to be fastened to the proximal end of the outer cylinder."

Bar girls will be happy, an old fart used to be an easy mark, couple of beers, bit of flirting and he snores the night away, then came Viagra and they had to do the nasty.

I guess like anything though it will become available at a higher price from other sources.

As the mans title (doctor) suggests he is a college educated health minister, where do you start when reviewing his, as well as those responsible for his appointment, qualifications?

With thinking like this, I hope he and like minded people never have the authority to make suggestions on birth/population control, road saferty, etc. Unf..king believable.

So if one wish to trouble an enemy he can just post order the stuf in the victim 's name ........looks like an " easy teamoney party" in preparation............. Thai justice system....,

they should better check the shisha pipes about their content lately as some react" strange" on the inhalations........

Just have the Thai lady buy it. How the hell will they know who it is for. Some of this is unclear. Is it really true this only applies to Farang geezers and not Thai? Hard to believe. If so, may bring the price down to Thai users level.

For Thai women married to farangs they might require a declaration like the Land Dept that the ED drug is purchased with her own money and is for her own use or that or her Thai lover and not be given to her farang husband on any circumstances. Anyway it might be awkward for some farang men to account for the number of tablets consumed to their Thai wives. Also what about farang men married to farang women living in Thailand.

If you believe this nonsense then I suggest you check yourself into the funny farm as you should not be allowed to walk around by yourself

I heard it is banned cos old guys were pushing the Viagra down their dick leading to a strain on their local medical services. coffee1.gif

my neighbour says V8 and V12 owners who can prove that they are able to use powerful gadgets will still be allowed to buy but even for them a prescription will be mandatory.

yet another case of Thai delusion. The problem he is addressing is old farts coming to Thailand for sex with prostitutes. What about clamping down on prostitution - oh, I forgot, can't do that because the poor girls (and police) need a source of income. I'm living in Thailand on a retirement visa with a Thai wife and he's making viagra ilegal for me? How stupid can you get? Oh, I forgot, TIT.
