What we need is a Thai native speaker who is versed in etymology. Maybe at the U?

(Or, we might need to meet the black clad [somewhat] non-participant to the right of Dave's splashing of the 2 bench photo.)

Loh Kroh is certainly not representative of what CM is as far as the so-called entertainment industry is concerned. People working there are hardly from CM. Do you agree or not?

Agreed, but migrants often bring cultural diversity, which can be very healthy. (Just look at us for example) The same also applies to Bangkok: People working there are hardly from Bangkok.

I'm not sure what you mean about the 'entertainment industry'. Are you referring to those handful of sorry beaten up bars at the top of Loi Kroh, where I can assure you there are girls from Chiang Mai working along with girls from other places......"there's gold in them there lowlands". The rest of the street is just shops, massage places, restaurants etc; just an ordinary and less than exciting street. Or do you mean the entertainment industry as applied to places like Sayuri and other places/hotels they have nice 'white skinned girls' sitting in the fish bowl? The white skin must be from all that bathing. wink.png
