Can you catch the train to Aranyaprathet at the Lat Krabang station by the airport?

If so are there any hotels close to the station?

Thanks.

thsi bristol response again makes me wonder why some people bother to post here at all. the tipical unknowing TV responders. It is a (only 2/day and very slow-3d cl only) stopping train-which means exactly that: STOPS at all stations-and a fair lot of halts too-en route, incl. the Lard Krabang station, which is the 1st stop too on the ARL out (fare thus 15 bt). The 2 are adjacent and they even make announcements on the ARL about being able to change (thats into the eastern line).

There is nothing to do at LK-so if you come far too early (as is common for most unknowing) take any train that runs before to Chachoengsao and wait there-buy 2 tickets-there is NO advance booking nor any need to bother about ''full''ness-yes it will be full-with students on 0 bt fares who exit next stop-Hua Takhe.

MUCH more easy are the buses direct from airterminal to Aran-they go on to border (Roong Kleua market)- @7.30-and at weekends also @9.30

Yes you can catch the train to Aranyaprathet at the Lat Krabang station.

I made the trip with my family and it’s a wonderful experience. Yes, the carriages are old, actually the same as 25 years ago and the train is slow but you can enjoy beautiful landscape, chat with locals and enjoy a cold beer sold from vendors on the train.

Thank you, this is just the experience i am looking for. I know the bus is quicker and air conditioned etc but sipping a beer or two as we slowly amble throught the Thai countryside is a winner for me.
