jay1980 Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 I am planning a trip to Koh Samet, would like to go by bus, but is there a faster bus than the one that leaves from Ekkamai? Does that still take the best part of 4 hours? I heard there is a service from the airport? is it that any quicker? I don't want to take a van from Victory monument as the drivers can sometimes be too crazy. cheers
rucus7 Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Yesterday Ekamai to Ban Phe 3 1/2 hours. Seems to be the average. I was surprised the 9:00 AM bus was full
asanee Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 try some logic thinking: If you want it to be much faster as 4 hrs(3,5) then you must have a crazy driver-just look at distance in kms and kms/hour then. NO-all big buses start from Ekamai, you denied the vans already,. I do not think a bus goes from Airport (plus that trip to there would negate any time savings)- to ban Phe harbor, but there are plenty of buses to Rayong-change there for onward songhthaew. Wont be any fatser in total time taken. THESE buses start at Mochitmai. Songkran is coming up-so expect anything to be pretty full from today till its all over+ many more drunk drivers too.

Thought an airport bus maybe quicker because of no stops, eg the bell airport bus to pattaya is much quicker than the bus from ekkamai.... I won't be going until the 16th, after normal Songkran dates (but not pattaya Sonkran of course) cheers
