Thaivisa Expands Services To Myanmar And Cambodia

Featured Replies

I'm quite surprised Thaivisa opted for a new Myanmar and Cambodia Forum instead of Vietnam, considering Vietnam, currently, has a lot more tourist and expats than Myanmar and Cambodia put together.

Why don;t you use the proper name of Burma or are you recognising the junta given name of that country.

And why don't you educate yourself, ya ding dong. Oh sorry, dindong.

It's not the junta given name of the country, it has strong linguistic roots in the long history of the nation.

Actually you are wrong, the junta changed the name of the country from Burma to Myanmar.

your going to go up against the well established Kr440 and the SHV online for Shianoukvile

Best of luck

where as here, on thai visa, 50% of the people that seem to post all day long, complain, Seems most of them are living upcountry where there is nothing else to do :-)

those on the Cambodia forums praise the country they have chosen to live in

I just went into those forums and compared to Thai visa, they appear extremely basic.

I would say, there is no competition and having a decent forum in those countries like Thai visa, is well overdue.

One question to Thai visa:

Will all the new forums be moderated? I hope so.

You are probably referring to khmer440.com which is an NGO web site

famous for flaming. If you are not an NGO do read the posts but do not add anything.

However innocent the evidence will be used against you.

Yes 440 would be one of the worst forums on the planet...Peter Hogan the owner and his little clique of friends are now getting worried about the competition of TV coming over and so he should be. The other one sihanoukvilleonline is mainly to boost the owners bar & guest house, many post seem to disappear with out warning.

Now expats from throughout Southeast Asia can jump from their existing local forums to the heavily censored TV forums full of grizzled Thai expats and annoying advertisers who post aggressively - something that will happen shortly after the Hopewell pillars are all removed.

Well, according to that travel warning from Oz, I should avoid travelling to Kawthaung (south Myanmar opposite Ranong). Complete rubbish!
