Buy Sewing Machine

Featured Replies

Hi Ladies,

I want to buy a new sewing machine in Bangkok. Do any of you know where to buy inexpensive?

Thanks for the info.

yeah me too...any places to get second hand? the wife wants to take it up but new machines are expensive and I want her to try it out before we go whole hog with the issue...

my sister is a compulsive with sewing with an entire room in her house with bits of fabric piled everywhere and a very expensive german machine...a cheaper jap one would be better with a beginner...maybe chinatown in BKK?

looked interesting and I thought about investigating meself...I can never get store bought shirts to fit properly and the tailors never have nice fabrics...

I decided to buy one since the tailors on the street never have it right when comes to a little complicated stuff.

I already bought brother sewing machine. the cheapest one 4800. i bought for around 8000tb and very happy with it.

yeah...something for basic stitching shouldn't be too expensive...it would just be nice to get hold of some nice, all cotton shirt fabric and then decide what to do with it...

a long time ago a girlfriend said: 'you are a prince and should be dressed in princely colors' and she made me a tunic that was unbelieveably beautiful...with that and my sister's influence I could see a potential...with the wife presently there is an interest but the concentration and attention to detail may put her off as she is very active...

btw, I still think of the girlfriend with the tunic often...something happened and we parted and her heart was hardened as a result...she is now close to 60 y.o.and still a beautiful woman and she has never let me forget that...

That's a nice story that came along with the sewing machine stuff. These little things in our lives that make it so special.....

well..one just collects the stories and then later tries to present them in an entertaining way...but this was a story of true heartbreak, she was only 18 y.o. (I was 20) and then her later relationships with men were aberrant...and then I dragged my remorseful ass around to say that I was sorry...but to no use as it was: 'get back you fiend...'sorry' will never be good enough...'

but later, after 3 husbands she married again and had children and she's doin' OK from last reports...

Thank you.

We went to Tesco Seacom last week and they had Brother LS2125 for 3990 thb and a Brother BM2600 for 5990 thb .and, like the proverbial village idiot we didn't buy because we wanted to check the reports/ prices etc on the net .

Then we went to Tesco Rama iv to look at them and purchase one. No Hab .Seacom hab . Okay so we go back to Seacom yesterday ..............., No sorry cannot buy because lady who sells them she not come in today........... Okay can somebody else sell it to us........blank looks ..........cannot .......... ok when will the one person who sell us the sewing machine be in so we can buy ......................more blank looks and the sound of grinding rusty gears ................ring Tesco head office .Do you have the number ?? ...........more blank looks .

We asked another salesperson about it expecting another answer . told us go to on-Nut Tesco. Then another says On-Nut no have only Seacom. This is, by the way, a condensed version of Tesco customer service in sewing machine sales .They do have some nice plasma TVs that they could have sold us tho.

So after two days we have established that Tesco Seacom has them on the shelf but cannot sell them to us because the only lady who can sell it to us is somewhere out there in the ether of the universe .

OHHHHhhhhh they promised to call us when the lady comes in. I am not waiting for that promise to be forgotten and if they do ring, by the time we get there she will have gone to lunch no doubt.

So Central has them thanks Dave11223 , where did you buy yours Blossombkk ?

He (or she) who hesitates are lost. If I see something I really want, i buy it then and there because, as you just learned the hard way, you may never see it again.

Hi,

I bought mine at The Mall Bankapi. They had a few models. It was a few months ago and I don't remember such low prices. Mine was over 8000 TB, there was a cheaper one. Don't remember the price though.

We went to Central at Bang-Na and bought a Elvira . Hope it is good and reliable which are the criteria i look for but my gf is happy because it can do quite a few different stiches and she will be able to do few sewing lessons for 12 months just up the road from us.

And the best thing is i didnot have to suffer the Tesco experience again.

That is so true SBK , but then again have also rushed in without doing my homework and regretted it to especially with something i know absolutly nothing about , but ,in this case i should have bought it when i saw it asumming the only lady in the universe who could sell it to me was available in the store.
