I'm looking to move on my return to Chiangmai I am hoping someone can recommend some buildings in the Thapea road/night market area.

Could be serviced but prefer a regular building.

I can't find a website that restricts to that area nor any condos at all but maybe I'm just daft cuz I know they're there.

Thanks

There are very few condo buildings off Thapae Rd. City View Tower Condo is the only one that comes to mind. However, the sois between Loi Kroh and Thapae roads are full of all sorts of guest houses, serviced apartments, etc. Some look quite nice. I have a friend who comes to CM every year for a few months. Fortunately, it's not during the prime tourist season as she's a teacher and comes during her summer holiday. Every year she books into a hotel for a few days and then walks the sois between Thapae and Loi Kroh roads, looking at different possiblities. She's never stayed in the same place twice, but she rarely changes places once she decides where to stay for that visit.

Seems like a good plan for someone who knows the city a little bit and plans to stay for just a few months.

city view is one of the best kept secrets in Chiang Mai with probably the very best location available so don't tell everyone!

It's a great location but it's a dog of a building and some of the residents are, uh, how to put this...not the sort of company you'd want your daughter hanging out with. Also, the last time I checked the swimming pool was a health hazard. However if convenient location is your top priority you can give it a look.

I know of one in the 14,000 baht range. But don't know if that is in your range,

up to 20K with a 6 month lease if possible, but less is more than ok :)

The Royal Lanna right behind the Burger King in the Night Bazaar has two floors of condominiums.

Hey some of the floors are nice - the outside I agree is rough but who cares? Within walking distance of everything

PS I doubt you would want your daughter hanging out with any farang in Chiang Mai unless you were referring to me of course

Had mto laugh when I saw that one.

About 5 years ago a friend of ours moved into there, He took myself and another friend over to see it. I thought the room was OK.

After we left both the women said they would never go back there again. The elevator was haunted.cheesy.gif
