My GF and myself have long discussed a trip to OZ and esp NZ as it is so lovely and we have a friend there with a camper. Our goals are snorkeling in OZ and possibly NZ protected South Pacific and do a long camping trip up-down the length of NZ.

What is the likelihood and what would it entail to get her into both of these countries if...

...we were or were not married, living in Thailand, myself on a non-imm

My GF and potential spouse has a US visa and will have traveled and returned from US no less than three times before we would make the visa/s.

She has fairly extensive travel exp in South/East Asia and may have India under her belt by then as well.

My friend (NZ) has a Chinese Malay GF who has had no problem getting a visa to NZ.

Thanks.

PS: We could easily settle for just NZ.

Hi there,

If your girlfriend has a Thai passport, then she would have to apply for a Tourist Visa from the Aus. Embassy to enter into Australia unless of course she has PR for Oz. which would give her an automatic right as a tourist into NZ.

For NZ enclosing the link http://www.immigrati.../quickcheck.htm

Edited to add, I do believe if your g/f is on a Thai passport she will have to apply for 2 separate visas for the two countries concerned..

You will both need to apply for a 676 visa for Australia (I believe thet US citizens can get an E visa which is cheaper and quicker to get) and apply for the appropiate NZ visa as well. If your is travelling on Thai passport then she will need to apply the Oz embassy for her visa as mentioned by Edwin

Where you live, your marital status etc has no bearing on obtaining an Oz visa.

Her travel history will assist as it shows compliance with other visas.
