Femi, the course offers what's considered a 'good deal' in a play and stay type package.. Are you aware of this?

(Aren't there two big c's on the Hang dong road?)

Thanks larry. I saw four different offers i think on their website for april only. The one that attracted me most was to play two rounds including caddy fees for 1500 baht which also comes with a free lunch! I've heard there's a few guest houses nearby where we could probably stay for say 500 baht, making this a very nice deal for say two grand plus caddy tips. Our last chance to do this is at the weekend. We could of course just drive back home to cmai between the two rounds, but that's time and petrol-consuming.

I'll have a look again to check on ther offers. But meanwhile, hoping somebody can recommend somewhere! Or we'll just search for one before we play our round.

Yes. One is within the Second Ring though, still Muang district. The other one is in between Hang Dong and Sanpatong, much further out. (Used to be a Carrefour)

Anyway I would just stay in town; biggest choice, best prices especially in the lower end, and convenient for non-golf things. I don't really see the sense in staying in the middle of nowhere.

I live in saraphi! The idea was to stay very near the golf course and therefore avoid two extra long driving trips between the two rounds thereby saving the global environment from burning extra fossil fuels! Plus we could enjoy some beers after the first round with no worries driving back.

Staying in the middle of nowhere in thailand is, to me, an attractive idea! Anyhow, i've revisited the website and clearly wasn't reading things very well. We're now going to stay at the resort for 1500 baht each (or 1800 one person per room) which gives us two rounds and a free breakfast and a night's stay. Good deal.

While this thread is alive though, can anyone remind me where to turn right off the cmai hod road? I went past it last time and am keen to make the right turn in one go this time. I seem to remember the right hand turn being at some lights and that it looked more like a track than a road, and therefore that's why i went past it.

You turn right here: http://g.co/maps/a8pna

So same intersection where the left turn on to Road 1010 to Toen is. (But you turn right instead) It's a tiny road though: http://g.co/maps/zjs2q

BTW, One time when I played this course, I found it to be the hottest place I'd ever been in Thailand. I don't know if it was just that day, or something about the location. Interested in hearing your experience..

Heh! I'd noted a day or two back that the hot days were going to be even hotter at the weekend according to their website - a cool 40, and that's in the shade!

I played there one time, and cannot remember a single hole, nor anything about the course. Too many bloody golf holes in my head from down the years!

Look, i think once you're in a huge oven, another couple of degrees won't do much damage. I"m going to take some nice cool drinks down there in my thermos.

Report will follow our second round on sunday...
