alfieconn Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 It seems to be becoming the norm that if your playing a team away from home that are half decent, then you just shut up shop. I don't remember it being like this in the old days and it was all much more exciting. People describing games as "Chess Matches" well if i wanted to see a Chess Match i'd go and watch a proper chess match. Chelsea's game last night was a prime example, across the pitch, no good, try again, down the wing, oh no one in the middle, lets pass it across the pitch again, for fark sake, i know the chavs were down to 10 men but would they have been any different with 11, i doubt it. So a rule change is needed ! I'll start the ball rolling, how about teams only being allowed 9 players in the first 2/3's of their half, now some people might laugh but i'm serious, how much more entertaining would it be
MrRed Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Sort of players being tagged and if they go into the wrong area or over the wrong line they get electrocuted! i am all for that.
mrbojangles Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Allegedley in the old days the same sort of prize wasn't at stake. Nothing wrong with a team shutting up shop, it's upto the other team to think of ways in which to break them down. I like to see goals but if all you want is goals, pop down to the local sunday league

And 17 of those were penalties awarded at your homes games right? Honestly, two of the richest clubs in the league don't need all this extra help from the refs do they? Sorry Alf, just swerved off topic there.

StevieH Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 good defending is a totally legitimate tactic, and if opponents can't break organised teams down then tough titty really. defending is a skill every bit as much as attacking is. so long as teams do it fairly and honestly i don't have a problem with it.
