Hi just a quick question.

Does the visa start on the date i have proposed to travel or do the 6 months start from the date the visa is processed ?

The visa can be post dated up to 3 months.

I stapled a small note asking for a specific date to the front of the application form, one line in the additional information so it is printed in the application and I also included one line in my supporting letter.

Mine has always been the day it was processed.

Unless you specifically ask that the start be postdated the visa will usually be valid from the day it is issued.

If you do ask for it to be postdated, check immediately you receive the visa; mistakes do happen and are difficult to rectify later.
