Driving To Kalasin

Featured Replies

Anyone ever driven from Chiang Mai to Kalasin?

I'll be headed there in June and I've been unable to find a road map that has both Thai and English. Any reliable info/directions would be most welcome.

A regular run for the passt 20 odd years. I will P.M. you in a while.

I drove the opposite way a few years ago but I can't imagine the roads have changed much.

Highway 11 to Lamphang

Highway 11 to Uttaradit

Highway 11 (AH13) direction Phitsanu Lok

Turn left of Highway 11 at Wang Thong, Highway 12 to Lom Sak

Highway AH16 to Chum Phae

Highway AH16 to Khon Kaen

Use Khon Kaen south ring road and then the AH16 to Kalasin

As I say it was a few years ago.

Cheers

It is hardly a secret but there is a bit of writing and one does not want to clog the page up with something most people will not want to know. However if you have signed the Official Secrets Act 1948 ammended the I will be happy to send you a copy!

Thanks to all. I believe I've received sufficient help to get there and back in one piece!

Another plus for TV.

And another plus for Google. It's bilingual too.

I was goint to say that even though I have good directions now, it would still be good to have a map. I didn't think of Google Maps. Even though I've used them before in the US. Guess I just didn't think they were in use here. My, what progress! Thank you.

Decent hotel in Chum Pae if you want to break your journey, The Grand Hotel, B800/night with free breakfast.
