Hi there,

I am a south african citizen and have, what seems now a bit prematurely, bought a return ticket to thailand that leaves on the 31 August 2012 and returns on 6 Jan 2013.

This is 126 days i belive.

My plan is to train muay thai and mma in phuket for 3 months and then travel the country with my girlfriend for the remainder of the time.

(she is joining me in December)

It seems to me that if i arrange a tourist visa prior to leaving South Africa I can stay for 60 days. How can i extend this stay?

As i am only leaving here in August i still have some time to arrange this.

Thank you for any advice in advance.

The 60 day stay can be extended 30 days at immigration office inside Thailand at cost of 1,900 baht. Beyond that would require a new entry/visa from outside Thailand.

A Tourist Visa gives 60 days and can be extended by 30 days at Immigration.

Try and get a 2 Entry Tourist Visa or as said above get another Visa in a neighbouring country to Thailand after the initial 90 days.

Thank you,

Im very impressed by your quick response.

If i get a 2 entry Visa would i have to fly out of the country to get another 60 days? Or could i do a day trip to one of the borders?

Thank you

So to sum up i need to arrange at 2 entry tourist visa, extending it for 30 days in thailand. Therafter i would need to do a visa run to any of the neigbouring countries and i could leave for a short while and return and get another 60 days?

Do you know perhaps the ease of getting a 2 entry visa?

Is there anyhting i specifically require?
