David48
Oh ... brit1984 ... speaking such wondrous events ... an update please on the state of play with the Missus and the future opening bat for Thailand please? . I'm working on a few photos so give me a minute or two. The new batsman should be out of the pavilion in about 6 weeks. He is just getting padded up. The pavilion is doing fine as well, although some repair work may be needed later in the year. You are a braver man then I am with that statement (bolded above)! Any closer to a name then. Maybe instead of counting beans tomorrow the team can come up with a few names from sporting heroes of the past ... I assume that British and cricket related would be highly regarded? I've always been a fan of Jack. But I don't know who easy that name is for Thai's to say? Jack ... batter up. Jack ... soft hands. Jack ... eyes on the ball. Jack .. where's that beer? Jack ... how are those knees? Edited June 26, 2012 by David48

harrry
What is up with transam tonight...I gave him a car post...doesn't he like Kingswoods. Ahhhhh, not seen, mon ami, but been busy. again then http://smh.drive.com...0626-20zm3.html The perfect ThaiVisa Cricket (TwoKnees) car. Unfortunately it has bucket seats. Good stuff. If it was a 2 door it could be our pension BUT it's great to see these rides . Not a bad price. Bit like the 10000mile MK7 jag I could not resist in my youth
harrry
Actually I was looking for a MK5 like my grandfather had but the 7 came up. Good car. Saved my life a few times when I did the stupid things we all do. THat photo does not do it justice though paid the same as I would for a brand new Valiant. Still think I got the better deal. Interestingly, my surviving grandfather is called Donald and my other grandfather was called George. Maybe I should call my (first) son Brad... David48
One way Thai could benefit by Cricket is in the community network that builds around the Village Cricket Club. Here is one example of how that community spirit can be tapped. A CHILL in the air and moody skies failed to deter Brisbane residents who came from across the city to help fundraise for the three daughters of the late Allison Baden-Clay. Fairy floss, cricket, Chinese calligraphy, face painting, live music and a petting zoo drew large crowds to the Brookfield Showground yesterday. Organisers hoped to raise more than $20,000 to help support the girls. Full story here. Recently the Brisbane children lost both parents. One was murdered and the other is in Jail for that murder. So the local community gather together to play a Charity Cricket game to raise funds for the children’s welfare. David48
So ... can this work in Thailand? About this time last year the seeds were being sown for a Flood Event that Thailand had not seen for many years and undoubtedly was under prepared. As part of the relief effort the Village Cricket Club could mobilise their members to assist with any relief strategies. Without them running between the wickets becomes hard and instead one must hit 4s and 6s all the time.

brit1984
Maybe in future my kids will play cricket? What you think? What make a good cricket player?? Thank you ka. Your sons should play cricket and your daughters should watch. They will need to practice every day to become good players. You will need to buy them all the equipment and enroll them in a school that takes cricket seriously. You should also consider installing a cricket net and a bowling machine in the garden as well. Thailand Cricket ... eager to lend a helping hand Have had a hectic day today and only just been able to get back to the crease...... I see that we have a few more runs and particularly one from Missfarmgirl. Good to see you back as our Thailand cricket team needs you.... I also see that our PM has made another great suggestion here as to why “Thailand Needs cricket”.... As Thailand does need a disaster plan in place and cricket will breaks down the walls between the elite and the average Thai, then, when in times of disaster, all Thais will come together for the good of the nation. Having said this, each district will have learnt through their involvement with cricket, how to organise and administer their relief plans and aid so that everyone is assisted in the best possible way.
