Thailand Needs Cricket

Recommended Posts

Any problems in Thailand that can't be fixed by cricket?...

Brit1984: Perhaps you should run a column in one of the wider-circulation newspapers, inviting people to write in regarding their problems, and you could show how cricket could alleviate their woes.

Know your knees,

In the absence of an editor with the courage and fortitude to publish such a column, perhaps we could extract woeful and tragic tales from other journals, or even from other pages of this very forum, and show how cricketal remedies could best be effected.

Necronx99, for example, is having trouble undecanting spirits. In the absence of an undecanter, perhaps you could cast your telephoto lens on his missive of misery.

I have provided a cricketing solution to Necronx's problem directly on the thread...

With regards to the newspaper column, that is an excellent idea and should certainly be part of our plan

However, print media is becoming outdated, I think this thread is the future

Boss...your onto something there re this thread.

You started it just in time, for all the school kids to read, when they get their new computers.

Now they can learn why "Thailand Needs Cricket"

What's baseball?....ermm.gif

It is the reason for America's over-simplistic and heavy-handed foreign policy...

What...they beat foreigners with a baseball bat...now I know why I never wanted to go there.

Metaphorically yes, that pretty much sums up their foreign policy and approach to most problems

It isn't such a bad place for a visit though... I loved Disneyland as a kid, learnt a lot during a school trip to Washington as a teenager (including that if you are underage the best way to get alcohol is to pay a homeless guy $20 to go into the liquor store for you) and as a young adult I thoroughly enjoyed meeting many slim Americans while running the NY Marathon...

They do not restrict that to foreigners

About the same number as play cricket, probably.

Netherland by Joseph O'Neill is my favourite book about cricket in the US, and talks about how cricket helped one man come to terms with the loss of the twin towers, which he had sadly misplaced in an aviation accident.

In the spirit of philanthropic consideration for our fellow men, I have copied the helpful parts of this message to the "Terrorism in Thailand..." thread

Another fine example of the benefits of cricket - Flannels versus fiends, sotospeak.

So that adds up to the number of slim Americans?

Well fellow team members, we have 90 more runs to reach our tally set by Harry, this morning...... 2661

As we still have the evening play in Thailand to go, I'm sure we will get there.

I am looking forward to many good singles but I need someone to join me.

All players welcome even newbies. I don't discriminate.

Boys, I'm backkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk..............

Well for a few days.

I can see the innings is over the 2500 now. Some great stat building there!

I'll try to update later...though this 20/20 really has given me the taste for the quick runs.

My. Your. The Teams money is fine.. You all might need to contribute a bit more though... I thought that SC's fleet of buses could use an escort, so I think I better buy myself something fast and flashy....for the team of course whistling.gif

Which celebrity (or celebrities) should be the "face" of our campaign to spread cricket around the Kingdom of Thailand?

We could go back quite some posts and re look at Lara Bingle.

I'm sure David48 has some more pics he can share
