BAN CHIANG YUN SCHOOL is a government comprehensive school with approximately 1300 pupils from kindergarten up to Matthayom 3.

The school wishes to hire 3 English Language teachers on a 1 year contract to teach and participate in the formulation of a Mini English Program pilot project from scratch.

The MEP is part of the new, no-nonsense, western educated Principal’s vision to transform this school into an institution with an ethos of real learning to rival the larger and better funded public and private sector schools in the nearby cities of Khon Kaen and Maha Sarakham.

The MEP is to be initially funded by the school’s own funds and contributions from parents. If the pilot project is deemed a success after 1 academic year the school will be able to upgrade the program to a fully fledged EP (maximum 50% of each year group) and receive significant budgetary assistance from the Ministry of Education in addition to top-up fees levied on the considerable number of parents who, according to surveys, would be only too glad to end their childrens’ lengthy and costly commute to Khon Kaen or Maha Sarakham in favour of quality schooling closer to home.

The extra funding that will follow the success of the pilot project will translate into quality pay for quality staff.

If you are in Thailand on a 30-day entry permit (which is a visa-waiver and NOT a visa) you must exit Thailand and apply for a 3-month Non-Immigrant B visa at a Thai Embassy.

If you are in Thailand on a valid Tourist visa or Non-Immigrant visa of any category you may apply to convert your visa into a Non-Immigrant B visa at any Immigration Bureau. Thereafter the visa can be renewed for up to 1 year at a time without having to leave the country.

The school administration will provide all of the necessary supporting documentation for you to obtain a Non-Immigrant B visa at your own expense. The nearest Immigration Bureau to Chiang Yun is in Khon Kaen.

The school administration will apply for your work permit upon your receipt of a Non-Immigrant B visa.
