This could be an interesting topic, there are tons of things to do if one heads out to seek them.... follow roads .... it's surprising what's out there.

Not all cost money either! thumbsup.gif

Namuang falls 2 is worth a couple of hours walking to the top. Free if you avoid the Safari Park and elephant rides.

The falls off Soi 1 from Maenam to Lamai worth a boo, as is the secret water falls swimming hole is free off Soi 5 Maenam, one can also zip line for a fee.

Waterfalls tend to dry up a bit when little or no rain so could be disappointing....

Lamai's new big buddha, all back roads will get you there! (well the main ones anyway) wink.png

Thunder getting a bit close w00t.gif.... back later!

Wow, very good, I was going to be sarcastic and ask who would put this all in alphabetical order.... you did it ! clap2.gif

Might be a good idea to add where these places are! whistling.gif

Boater will have to sort out when everything listed! tongue.png

Now a few questions, things I have not run into yet! ..... I must get out more!

Hot Air ballooning... ? really, where is the dry ski slope ?

Shell Museum near Nanthon, where exactly?

Golf at the Green Mango? Is this a day time activity? laugh.png

To Add another:

The Asian Cultural Centre, AKA Dusit Gardens, turn left by the 7-11 headed towards Nanthon Hospital then just after the Temple....A work in progress, but worth a visit! thumbsup.gif

Tree and plant spotting as you drive around! We're on a hunt for a Yellow Flamboyant.....tongue.pngbiggrin.png

Hot Air ballooning... ? really, where is the dry ski slope ?

If you are flying in on the A380 to the new airport, it is just behind the passenger terminal. If, however, you are using the tunnel from Donsak, you need to take a left after the first set of lights. Of course if you are using the new bridge, then you need to double back on the exit ramp and then head towards the waterfalls. You can't miss it, the dry ski slope used to be the indoor ski slope before the winds took the roof off and the waterfalls dried up.biggrin.png

Now more confused than ever! blink.pngblink.pngblink.pngtongue.png ... there's a tunnel after Donsak?

Are you yanking my chain? whistling.gifbiggrin.png

Not yanking your chain, just giving you the wrong direction, it's a left, left again after the first set of lights.

You are out of touch Rooo, the lights have been replaced by a roundabout, don't forget you have right of way in Thailand when entering a roundabout. thumbsup.gif

Oh just keep going round in circles then..... w00t.gifblink.png

Actually maybe not the place to ask, but coming back from Songkhla last week, there are a pile of signs for resorts, presumably on the east coast, between Nakon Si Tammerat (sp?) and Donsak, also caves and stuff like that, anyone ever stayed at these places and what are the beaches like?

Could be a couple of easy days exploring??? ... Motor bike and passenger only 275 baht on Songterm or was it Seatran blink.png ??? 350 baht. Raja terminals right next to each other in Donsak.... never realized that before... saves driving to Lipa Noi area. Not sure how much with car or truck .... perhaps Mr Rooo will let us know. wink.png
