soundman Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Don't Mangpong and Boomerang chain of stores carry original CD's? You can buy online too mate. http://www.boomerangshop.com/web/ http://www.mangpong....eshop/index.php
arkom Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 B2S sells them for sure, also at Paragon there is a pretty big shop that sells them 6th floor if I remember correctly.
craigt3365 Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Pantip use to have a nice store. There is at least one, if not more, in MBK. Originals.

Bpuumike Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Buy online from Amazon in whatever country and have someone hand-carry. While waiting... err... improvise.
Bpuumike Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 People still pay for music ? Sometimes. Call me old-fashioned (you would soon scrap that idea if we ever met) but I still like to have an original CD. Not the same as vinyl, don't put me in that category, but I just like to have those worth it.

craigt3365 Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 If you have a good stereo, you can easily tell the difference between an MP3 and a CD. Especially if the MP3 is below 320kbps. I have some CD rips that are 192kbps or lower and they sound pretty bad on my Hi Fi. But find on the iPod.
Hssl Posted May 26, 2012 Author Posted May 26, 2012 MP3 - I don't think so! This not so old cat CAN tell the difference ! Thanks for all the tips people!

I have some CD rips that are 192kbps or lower and they sound pretty bad on my Hi Fi. But find on the iPod. Not all mp3's are created equal of course. The LAME VBR variety, if you so desire via settings, can be virtually indistinguishable on almost any home stereo vs a CD by even the most hardcore audiophiles. In other words, if you have a lot of music, it is almost essential to store in the mp3 format, with NO drawbacks. You can read about this stuff for days, these guys are true freaks http://lame.sourceforge.net/index.php
Wittywitty Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Shops, department stores have authentic CDs. There used to be CD Tower but I don't know where it is now.
orientalist Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 Tower Records and then CD Warehouse used to be the place to go. Now it's basically the same selection at branches of Mang Pong in every department store.
